Biography

Angie Chown has been a School Counselor at Sage Elementary in Redmond, Oregon since 2012. Originally from Graham, Washington, Angie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pacific University, followed by a Master of Science in School Counseling from ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ – Cascades. Since 2012, Angie has been a dedicated partner to the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½-Cascades Master of Counseling program, supervising and mentoring numerous practicum students and interns. She also teaches courses in the MCoun program on a part-time basis.

Angie’s commitment to excellence in school counseling was recognized in 2023 when she received the Oregon School Counselor Association’s prestigious Oregon School Counselor of the Year Award. Under Angie’s leadership, Sage Elementary earned the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation from the American School Counselor Association in 2025. This honor recognizes schools committed to delivering comprehensive, data-informed school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model.

In addition to her work at Sage Elementary and ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½-Cascades, Angie joined the Board of Directors for the Oregon School Counselor Association (OSCA) in 2025.
