David’s interactive teaching approach and incorporation of experiential learning empowers students to advance their communication skills in Spanish and create meaningful connections in the local community and the world. His scholarship focuses on the use of literature in the acquisition of Spanish as well as the linguistic diversity in Spain.
David serves with the Faculty Support Center and represents Cascades with the Center for Teacher and Learning (CTL) in Corvallis. He is faculty advisor to the Spanish and Culture Club, has chaired the Academic Faculty Council, and represented ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ on the Higher Education Committee of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).
He is Co-Founder of Ventanas, LLC, providing cultural immersion experiences in Spain and Portugal. David has taught Spanish with such organizations as Central Oregon Community College (COCC), Bend-LaPine Schools, High Desert Education Services District, Deschutes County, St. Charles Medical Center, Deschutes Public Library, Bend and Redmond Fire Departments. He has done official document translation for public institutions.
