Psychologists study the influence of biological, mental, social and environmental factors on human and animal behavior. As scientists, they examine these relationships by applying the Scientific Method, involving detailed observations, experimental design, and statistical analysis. In addition, psychologists apply this knowledge to help individuals as clinical therapists and mental health workers, and to help communities and organizations, for instance, in their managerial organization, labor relations, employee motivation, human resources, and marketing design of products. As experts of behavior, the opportunities for psychologists to aid in an individual鈥檚 well-being, or in an organization鈥檚 performance, are extensive. Psychology is also a common pre-law or pre-med major/minor.
