Transportation Options
Supporting Sustainable Travel
We're here to help you find ways to leave your car at home and ride, walk or share rides to campus.
Need a little incentive? Earn parking credits or gift cards when you complete 5, 15, and 30 round-trips using active transportation options each term.
Want to save money and reduce your impact?
糖心传媒-Cascades' campus is located within walking distance of many retailers and services, including a grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurants. Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District are within 3 miles and are easily access by foot, bike, or bus.
Carpool Parking
Sharing a ride with a friend, co-worker, or neighbor can save wear and tear on your vehicle, reduce emissions, and save you money on gas and parking permit fees.
Carpool Rules
Permitted carpool vehicles must park in carpool spaces designated by signage and must have at least two people (driver plus one or more passengers) in the vehicle when arriving.
On days that you cannot carpool and need to drive alone, you must purchase a parking permit and park outside of the carpool zone.
We will actively monitor and enforce carpool parking. The first violation will result in a $50 fine and the second violation will result in a $50 fine and your carpool permit being revoked for the remainder of the academic year.
Carpool Fees
A $25 administration fee is due upon claiming a carpool permit and must be paid online through Honk. Due to the level of demand for carpooling we must assess a fee to actively manage these spaces.
The fee applies for the 2025-2026 academic year until permits expire on 9/18/26.
Carpool Application and Permitting Process
One permit will be assigned per carpool group that includes license plates of all vehicles. Please coordinate with your carpool group and designate one person as Carpool Manager. Only the Carpool Manager will need to complete the carpool application below for the Academic Year 2025-2026. The manager of approved carpools will be sent an email invitation to create the permit in Honk. They will be assigned the carpool permit and manage the permit within the Honk app. The carpool manager can add multiple vehicle license plates to their permit, but only one plate will have an active permit per day. The vehicle license plate can be switched daily in the Honk app.
Carpool groups with four or more people may want to apply for two permits and designate a different manager of each permit. If four or more people are sharing rides they can include the same vehicles on two different permits to allow flexibility in who you carpool with.
Carpool parking is available in the Chandler-Century and Simpson lots.
While we don't anticipate demand exceeding the number of carpool spaces available, if you find all spaces are occupied you can purchase an hourly or daily permit and park outside of the carpool zone.
